Phosphor Screens, Scintillators

Applications & Markets

Scientific instruments:
Mass Spectrometry
Electron Microscopy
X-Ray Detection
Image Intensifiers
Auger Spectrometers (LEED, RHEED)
IR & UV Detection etc…

Techniques:

Most of our Phosphor Screens are deposited on substrates using our Brushing Techniques, ensuring an even, uniform layer.

Various substrates can be supplied from: Glass, Quartz, Fibre Optics, Filter Glass, View Ports, Lead Glass, Silicon Wafers, etc… including Non Browning glass substrates which are more resistant to high electron energies / x - rays.

Sizes range between 5mm - 150mm diameter, squares or domed substrates.

Standard Phosphors include P1, P11, P20, P22, P43, P47. Others available on request.

Additional Options:

Most of our Phosphor Screens are supplied with ITO (indium tin oxide) or Al (aluminium) coatings to dispel charge.

Another advantage of the Al coating is the increase in efficiency by reflecting scattered light.

Utilizing our Class 100 laminar flow cabinets along with our UHV (Ultra High Vacuum) experience, means our Phosphor Screens can be inserted into Detector Housings (Electro Mechanical Assemblies) to our customer specifications.

Benefits:

Scintillators having fast response times, i.e. <100 ns, and having high sensitivity and resolution optimised to the performance of a Photo Multipliers Tube.

Most of our Phosphor screens are 100% UHV compatible.

Conclusion:

Having a wide range of phosphor screens available makes our products an Ideal solution to the many scientific instrument detector problems.
