TMS specialise in the manufacture, coating, repair and alignment of filaments. They have a wide variety of applications for example: Mass Spectrometers, other Electron Emission, Ion Guns and X-Ray Sources. Acute precision is required in the alignment and tension of filament wires using custom designed tension jigs along with video microscope technology. We supply both the original equipment manufacturers and trade suppliers to a worldwide customer base. In addition we can also offer facilities for electrophoretic coating of thoria or yttria to filaments as a process for both in house production or for filaments you provide. Filaments can be flashed in vacuum to condition or to degas them. TMS will also give advise on the options available to you for your application and will customise the process to meet your specific requirements if necessary.
