TMS manufacture a wide range of filaments for Mass Spectrometers, other Electron Emission, Ion Guns, X-Ray Sources etc. Replacement filaments can also be provided.

Precision Spot Welding

Arising from our many years experience in manufacturing filaments TMS has designed and developed precision tooling which enables a high level of accuracy in aligning and tensioning of the filament wire. This assures a high standard of quality and repeatability

Quality

Filaments are cleaned to Ultra High Vacuum Standards and are manufactured in Laminar Flow Cabinets. All Filaments are inspected under a microscope prior to dispatch

Filament Options

Filaments can be supplied in various forms, from wire (straight or coiled) and from ribbon. Materials used include Tungsten, Rhenium, Iridium, etc.

Additional Coatings to filaments can be applied including Thoria or Yttrium which improve Emission. Filaments can be flashed in vacuum to condition or to degas them.
